Hey All

Im off to bali and was going to get some lessons. I booked some in perth last year however was towards end of season and we never got anymore wind.

So, is bali good for lessons and is gear really alot cheaper than in oz? Nothings free right.

thanks guys

3 schools at Sanur, Jankies original crew (the local lads) down at the mertarsari end, blue oasis in the middle and the new one at the Inna Grand (northern end). dunno which are iko, though i'm pretty sure blue oasis is.
great spot to learn, just be respectful of the local fishermen.
gear is a bit cheaper in general, but you wouldnt want to have to claim warranty later on back here...
enjoy!

er... sometimes... lets just say that if you but it somewhere else, (o/s), cos it's cheaper, you may not get a big fuzzy hug from your local dealer...

Hello guys,
yes there is also a new School in town and is Called "Bali Kite Center"..
Is own by some French guys and they are IKO center.
They also have a huge shop on the by pass entering Sanur and many people confuse them with us... Actually they think I also own that shop and that I'm becoming milionaire ( I wish ).

The other school "Blue Oasis" is now under the control of Rip Curl and they are not IKO center anymore but they have some IKO instructor there..

As you should know by now I don't own anymore the original "Bali Kitesurfing School"

I only manage my web site and Kite and Surf Bali the Pro Shop with my wife...

Bali Kitesurfing School is now fully owned and managed by the local Balinese Kitesurfing Team! I help them out with the marketing and communication..
They are the really good and if you are really serious about to learn how to kite they are your guys... Plus you can support the local kite crew!!!

They are not IKO but I teach to them all I knew from IKO and much more...
I used to be an IKO Level 2 instructor but recently cancel my affiliation as I feel IKO is really useless!!

My suggestion to all of you that are coming to Bali to learn how to kite is to check all the schools out and then go to kite beach and talk with the guys that are learning...
They will tell you who are the best!!

And if you come over I wait all of you for a beer at my restaurant.
Bye Jankie
