Hey Groovers...
Just spent some time surfing in Bali and while i wasnt blown away by the crowds and redunkulous amount of out of control development on the island I was stoked with the kiting conditions in Sanur...
The wind wasnt pumping(12 metres an up) but the lagoon at high tide was great and the waves on the reef were ripppable and consistent....
The school i rented my gear from (no pimping) are well known to this forum, but there was a few to chose from so I dont think youd be left kiteless if you didnt take your own gear...
In conclusion, clear water, steady wind and cheap beer...
Good place for the missus too.. Nice....

FYI...
Windfinder do not work for any station north of the Airport...
Windguru is still the most accurate...
Nusa Dua has about the same wind as Sanur if not slightly less.
Nusa Dua you can't ride at low tide as the lagoon goes dry.

You can't kite anymore in the Geger area as the all beach is now a construction zone!

... yep, still here, wind stopped at the moment but predicted to come up tomorrow (Wednesday 18th), and tide getting better too (as in high in morning and mostly kiteable height til arvo). Predicted to last a while too, week and a half or so according to windguru which has been fairly spot on so far!!!

I thought wind was unlikely this time of year?
Do I take a nice guitar which is worth the same as a kite, or do I take a kite with the risk of not using it at all and having no guitar?!?

I kind of don't want to risk damaging the guitar though?

Hey Wishy,

this is their windy season. Wind's not like ours though, so take a big kite

You can probably buy a guitar there if you really need one

What will you do with a guitar on Bali? :)) Music everywhere...

On the same 'note', if you damage your kite it's cheap as chips to fix it professionally.
