Am going to the Avalon Airshow next weekend, and after kiteing 14 out of last 15 days here on the Gippsland Lakes, am starting to fret that it might blow next Fri/Sat. So are there any handy good spots near Avalon/Geelong?

The organisers let us buggy on the runway 20 years ago!! It was epic wind was perfect for a 3M Quadrifoil, we hit speeds in excess of 60kph, got pulled slideways in a gust took out a couple of landing lights and a rabbit that was hiding in the long grass at the side of the runway. We exited as planes were coming in to land, amazing experience.
To answer your question there are several excellent spots in and around Geelong including Pt Henry. PM me if you want a phone number to meet some other kiters.
