Hey guys,
are there some areas in Australia where you can find good wind conditions in your winter? I will have time from June to August this year and want kite as much as i can.
First i thought for traveling to West Australia but than noticed that this is a really bad time to go there (example Perth)...
Since i read that some of you aren´t happy at all about Euros coming to your country, maybe you can give me a hint anyway.
Though the wind-statistics that i found yet, Australia would be my choice up to now for a 3 month journey and maybe you have a place down under which is good for kiting in the named months.

Where ever you are in oz, find out your wind direction in that area and then google maps will be your best friend.

About Coolbellup: i found a city coolbelup which is a subburb of perth. Do you wrote about this? Than the wind there is not that bad in wintertime as i were told?
Snowkiting: Nice idea, in OZ you don´t have any snow right? For Snowkiting i am living just 2-3 hours away from the switzerland mountains luckily, so i did snowkiting more often than waterkiting up to now.
Also interesting the pages from Intheloop and Australian Sufari.
While i would not join to their programms for 3 months (they write about empty beaches, which just can reached with boats and 4x4). They gave me some ideas of Spots in northeast Australia. And wind statistics looks great for June-August around Townsville and heading north.
But when i read this pages, West OZ seems to a children's zoo in comparison to the North East. I am aware of the low chance of get bitten by a shark (and i know that driving a car is MUCH more dangerous than swimming in areas where sharks might swim too), but there you have also salties and Box Jellyfishs. Maybe they dramatize it a little bit, don´t know.

if you know what you doing in NQ then it is safe! No jellyfish in the water between July and August.
Local knowledge will help you here. Send us an email and we will give you some pointers and a list of spots where you have to go.

I used to do outrigger canoeing all year round in Townsville. There are no stingers that time of year. Townsville doesn't really get crocs (1 or 2 a year in summer) or sharks that close to the shore. Apparently there are Tiger Sharks (I think) out around Magnetic Island, but in 10 years of living there I've never heard of anyone getting attacked.
Check out the Canary islands, much closer to Switzerland and windier that time of year. Also the sharks are smaller and no crocks.
oh and coolbelup was a joke by the way, it is one of the worse subburbs in Perth so always a few jokes going around but sorry that you wasted your time trying to look it up
