Have a knot in one of my lines, its very tight and dont want to pick it out as it may damage it further. Just wondering if I leave it will this affect the integrity of the line.

chew it. takes a while but keep chewing and it will eventually loosen up.

it will be a weak point in your lines so best to get it out.

I have been told up to 50% strength loss.

Get to a tackle shop and buy two sets of split ring pliers. One pair on each "half" of the knot. I just got a real prick of a knot outta mine this way.

Bugger that.... just chew it for ages and soak it in warm water first. It'll come out with no problems.... always good to check your lines before attaching them to the kite.

no need to chew ......get a small hammer or mallet and put the knot on a hard flat surface gently tap the knot a few times and then rotate it 90 degrees tap a few more times rotate 90 degrees and so on....until you can pick it out ... guaranteed to loosen it enough to undo it ...essentially you are hitting the high point of the knot and flattening it..roll it over flatten etc ...works on any knot....

Helps if it is wet when you hit it with the hammer. Chwewing it maybe kills three birds with one stone.

I´m not too sure about chewing it or hitting it with a hammer as any impact like that I think would break up the fibers on the line. I know that with climbing and rescue ropes if you step on them or drop something heavy on them it´s not good. I had a knot in a line a few years ago and just left it, never made any difference

have a go at it yourself,
if you havent got it out within a couple of minutes,
hand it over to the missus and let her at it..
women have got the patcience and nicely shaped fingers perfect for knot unpicking. very usefull.
