Last weekend saw many kiters at Leighton Beach, many of whom appeared to be new kiters and/or new to Leighton, so welcome to the sport & welcome to Leighton.
For those of you new to the spot, a lot of work has been done over the past 2 - 3 years with the local surf club & the City of Fremantle to ensure that Leighton remains open to kiters.
In a nutshell, we would encourage all kiters to launch and land south of the dog exercise area as outlined on the WAKSA Leighton Guideline.

Copies of the guidelines have also been installed at Leighton.
There there Mr Waveslave, you'll start another Sh1T fight. Notice they haven't put where i kite, but then again it is crapola compared to the spots mentioned.
It's a two edge sword, to tell is to give info is to maybe reduce the potential of those spots to be banned.
Surely everyone knows them spots anyhow.
lol. ^^^
Do you have enough 'friends' already to share the waves with at your local ??
If so, expect a lot more ...
Cause WAKSA just loves to tell the whole world about all the kitesurfing locations.
Intelegent/positive/constructive comments as usual, well done slave
Where do you think we would be without WAKSA, you might actualy have something to whine about
I'm with you on the general release of Lieghton as a kite spot i never knew you kite there........being a big open beach and all facing West wow
"Dude, check out WAKSA's location-guide on the web of all the good kite-spots."
"Wow man, why would WAKSA tell the whole goddamn world about them?"
"Cause WAKSA likes crowdkiting, dude."
"Well, group-activities is their thing, man."
"So dude, where are we kiting today?"
"Let's cruise down to the Secret Spot, man."
"Are you serious, dude? Secret Spot is a freaking clusterf#ck."
"Too many strings on the water, man?"
"Worse dude. Way too many poles dicking around."
"Wow man, the poleys must know about the WAKSA location-guide too"
Never been to WA at all, but certainly like all wind sport enthusiusts, have heard of the freo doctor. Looking at the map, the freo doctor would surely blow near the fremantle surf life saving club. Wouldnt it? Dont sound like a secret spot, but more than likely a hot spot.
Keep up the good work waksa. Haters are going to hate.
