light doesn't equal good. a bit of weight and momentum in the board helps with rotations and off-axis balance, and makes it easier to get the board back down where it should be after a trick.

The North Team Series is the lightest board ive every ridden/picked up. Its Carbon fibre with a wood core. Huge pop and a lot of flex. Love it!

Contact Dan at Cardboards and actually speak to the manufacturer (07)4192 7227. Aussie made and top quality.

Not sure why you want the lightest but the North Team is lighter than the others mentioned.

I think this maybe including pads. North mentioned it weighs under 3kg's with pads and straps.

North Team Series 2012 - 134 x 40.0cm (2.3kg)
North Team Series 2012 - 137 x 41.0cm (2.5kg)
North Team Series 2012 - 140 x 42.0cm (2.6kg)

Unfortunately it comes at a price

What was your old board? Not asking to expose what broke, but i'm more interested in what you're coming from so we can recommend something...

In terms of weight, the Crazyfly Raptor LTD is very very light, as is the Cardboards Freeride (and much cheaper too!)

The North Team that Jason (BK) mentioned is extremely light also.

Select rides good through the chop but pops like a wet piece of celery. Team board 137 weighs 3.4kg with straps.

Mixed info on the web about it

"The 2012 Team Series is the ultimate New School Board. Mad pop, controlled landings, Hard Flex, and the Quattro V Bottom, all help make this the only choice for the North Pro Team.

The 137x41 weighs in at under 3kg, strapped and finned, thats just insane!

More pop, less weight, more power and one sick looking board.

All of North's performance twin tips feature the new Track system, combine this with the NTT footpad system and the variations to customise your ride are almost limitless.

Add your favorite boots and throw down powered moves like a wakestyle-pro, the Team Series lets you do it all.

The use of TeXtreme delivers stiffness, lightness and flex-response. This new carbon fiber technology is 20% lighter than conventional carbon reinforcement and is only available on the Select and Team Series boards for 2012.

The 2012 Team Series lets you go harder, faster and bigger!"

The lightest twintip is the one that's attached to the guy, that's attached to the kite, that's been sent the hardest, in the heaviest wind. It will have a negative weight and the boost will be highly invigorating.

Airush FS Team at 1.7 kg is seriously light. I have been riding the laluz, very nice board. You do notice the extra weight when you jump to a different board.

I thought my 2011 Underground 135 x 42 Crypt (Carbon Fibre) was light and most people comment the same when they pick it up and have a feel. I just weighed it and it come in at 3.3kg's but IMHO I love it and reckon it is great board

Marine ply 6mm, fiberglass 4oz and than bamboo ply 6mm.

Rocker 4.5cm, concave 5mm, flex as per production board which I've copied:)

All together 2.5kg for the 41.5x136 not bad...

And, yes, around $100 all together...
