Hey,
Was wondering if any of you friendly kiters might be looking for a general labourer/manual worker for the next 6 months? Been looking for work around Melbourne but finding it a bit tough. Any work would do really!
Here's hoping.
Thanks
Sean
Well, you see there's the thing. My background for the past 13 years has been in architecture, designing and detailing new housing and industrial/offices and running it on site. But, I wouldn't be your typical architect.
I've worked on a couple of house renovations, I can do a bit of carpentry, 1st fix stud work etc 2nd fix architraves, skirting, doors, ironmongery. Laid a few solid oak floors too. Have done a spot of dry lining and small amount of electrics and plumbing, but none of this is formally for a company. Basically my father is a chippy and taught me a few things over the years.
I think I am pretty flexible, good problem solver, can turn my hand to most things. Also replaced a few engines in cars, head gaskets etc as well as your usual wear and tear items like suspension, brakes, starter motors and all that.
Not afraid of hard work, I'm fit and healthy and a Paddy so if you want me to dig some holes, sure I could!
Probably should have put this in the original post. Anyway, if anyone can help, or put me in touch with someone, I'd be stoked. I find its always easier to get work through people you know, but when you don't know nopeople.........
Pm me you're details no work at the moment but may have some coming up
Are you going to be upset when the wind picks up and I dissapear![]()
I know of another Paddy similar to yourself, he started working with one of melbourne biggest generator mobs. Taking gennys to site, hook up, general help etc... I wont mention company names but do a search & make some calls
And you get to travel a bit so you get to see the sights!
Seamus: You sound like you have a great set of skills in a number of different areas and might actually have some common sense!
Common Sense is not actually that common in this day and age so I'd certainly give you a go if I had an opportunity here (Sunny Coast) for you but I'm sorry I don't.
Good luck with it mate!
Thanks guys for the info, will im you winter, but I won't get too offended if you leave when the wind picks up!
Gateman, cheers for the comments, after not getting any success no matter what job I apply for and who I go and speak to at the site/bar/restaurant/factory etc it does make you start to wonder if you've got any employable skills at all. Especially when you see some of the peeps who do have a job and always look like they can't be arsed and are in a world of their own!
Got to keep plugging away though.
Thanks guys
