Hi,
I'm thinking about buying the above kite from Kitepower because they are on special and I like the idea of a high efficiency kite. The guy from Kitepower gave me a balanced overview of it, saying it is high performance/efficiancy with great upwind capabilities. However he said it is not as user friendly as some other kites, and it is not the easiest kite to relaunch from the water and lost some market position because of those limitations.
So I was wondering if anyone has actual experience on this kite and would kindly give me their opinion. My basic question is: Does this kite have any MAJOR issues? Is it/was it, too difficult to fly?
I'm a beginner but if I but this kite I plan to use it in conjunction with lessions.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the link little o, mostly positive opinions, and I loved the video there.
Cheers.
For readers in general, the guy's comments from Kitepower ( I didn't ask his name) about the 09 edge are out of context in my post above now that I think about it. As I understood it, the characteristics he was talking about were directed to me as a beginner and were not faults of the kite itself (that's why I was interested in other peoples opinions).
Pretty sure I was the bloke at Kitepower you spoke to, you should remember me - tall, athletic, handsome? ![]()
ROFL
hi, i had my lessons on these kites in the u.k. 8 and 10metre, spent loads of time dumped in the water, as you do and had no problems relaunching, very nearly got one off my teacher but at the time didnt have the cash,![]()
They are not designed for beginners, but you could still progress well on an Edge RX. The saftey systems are good, and they are stable kites that fly relatively easy. I have own one and think it's the best quality built kite I've ever had.
Like kitepower said, there are more ideal options out there for a beginner, but you could definately still hang on to one of these, and progress well. Just keep in mind it's a more performance style kite.
They are a great kite for sure and you can learn on them, but you will progress quicker on something that goes a little slower and is a bit more forgiving and a bit more versityle.
Thanks for all the feedback and opinions everyone, I really appreciate it. It has made my decision easier.
Cheers,
