Is it just me or does Maroochy BOM wind obs always seem about 5 knots more than actual...... 17-23 today at 1pm.... More like 13-18??
Apparently it's measured at the airport. Don't know how it would effect the readings as its not far from the beach
Would be less in the inlet especially at low tide, around North Shore and Northwards it seems pretty close to me.
i think the airport gets clear wind, maybe it funnels a bit around mt coolum.
a sunshine coast 28 knots is far less "thick" than a south coast nsw 28 knots.... maybe the humidity takes the punch out of it.....
maroochy...but I find the same at marcoola area also. The readings are probably more accurate up marcus beach...
