Agreed, I get the feeling that we all feel like we are doing something wrong??? We pay our rates and taxes in this awesome country, we have a right to use the beach as well and we DO respect all those who choose to use it as well.
It would be un-Australian if the Joondalup council kicks us off Mullaloo. If they do I am sure that this council will make a name for themselves around the country, not for the right reasons.
Kiteboarding is NOT a crime, we hurt no-one, we're not poluting the air/beach, we are only guilty of having a good time and staying fit and healthy.
We all need to front up Tuesday night to provide a united front and show WAKSA some support.

"It's un-Australian" isn't really a reason to prevent bans (although it is Un-Australian).
It seems to be the safety angle that the opposition are pushing, and it was the question of which would be the easiest way to keep the beaches safe put forth to the MSLSC that had them favour Option 2. The MSLSC even acknowledged that the beach can be pretty gnarly and dangerous on occassions with the surf getting up from time to time.
Surely a ban would be the safest option, but having said that, how many swimmers are rescued and in peril every year? I believe it would be hundreds. Surely then, the public would be better protected by banning access for swimming to such a dangerous beach?
What about the surfboats, the paddle boards, and surfers who are injured or cause injury each year? SHould they not be banned.
As there have been no serious injury involving a kiter and a member of the public in years. The one incident that the Mullaloo Beach Users Group put forth was actually years ago before the new full depower kites and far improved safety systems.
Is it necessary to really wrap everyone in cotton wool for their own safety. What real grounds is there for a ban?
I believe that the Mullaloo Kiters can self police if given the chance and all can exist harmoniously. I'm hoping level heads prevail.
And I hope I catch the MOFO that keyed my car in the council car park last week [}:)]

Man i hope we can come to a reasonable compromise. I suspect Mullaloo will be the first of several bans if this goes ahead. I can't believe how kiting has been targeted at this beach.
Keep it up guys. This could be a critical moment.
To any of the kiting "opposition" reading these forums.... We all love the beach and we need to maintain access for ALL beach users. We all want the same thing here. A safe, clean, and beautiful beach for us all to enjoy.
