Yes that's right in a Coup for Wagga next years titles will be at Lake Albert .Due to unreliable winds for the past 4 years in just about every other part of the State (thanks to frikken La nina) and the miracle of the lake actually having water,Wagga has snapped up the titles .

have you not heard of the 5 o,clock wave in Wagga created by that person in your avatarWagga has been looking to have the wave taken seriously for decades and at last a high profile sport has come on board.

True. Do a downwinder from the Shanty down to Wagga Beach. Hopefully there is a cross-river wind, would make for some sweet down the line wave kiting. A nice sandy beach for the pack up, a plenty of barbies for meat and beer. Why hasn't there been a state titles here, this place has it all!!!

I love the area. Just laying down mad sessions in country NSW. The Shanty was my local secret haunt, there is a spot there I call the pond. Not cause the water is butter flat, but because it actually is a mud pond.

I am surprised there is not more (any other) local kiters, I guess they just don't know how lucky they got it. An untapped market for sure. Come to think of it a kite shop wouldn't look too out of place down Baylis St.

the latest mail is that Griffith has challenged Wagga's bid with their own multi million bid .Are the rumours true?
(I note that Wikipedia is slow to update Lake Albert and Lake Wyangan as kitesurf meccas ,in comparison to the rest of NSw DURING THE LA NINA coastal wind drought)
