still want a leash after looking at that site it's your funeral . Simple fact is learn to body drag upwind if you cant retrieve your board before you wonder out into the big bad ocean

Hmmm you have a point there.

Wow, they made a site dedicated to leash injuries. I guess I'll continue to body drag.

I don't teach a board lesson until the student has upwind body dragging skills. It's one of the fundamental skills. Without it you can die.

If you can't retrieve your board you shouldn't be out there.

I can body drag. The issue wasn't with that.

It was more my arrogance heading out into swell. There was no buoyancy vest and the swell was smashing me causing me to loose my board.

My first 3 sessions out of lessens were pure body dragging to retrieve my board in flat water and I had little troubles with it.

and know your limits. The ocean will test them wether your on a boat or board, Kite whatever.

if you had kited before '04, you would have had to self launch and land, because there was only three of us pioneers in the world who were waterskatekiting. we always wanted to kite at the same time so no one was left on the beach to do the gimp stuff. i trained my dog to launch/land, but he got jealous, bought a kite and got sucked up in a cyclone. i miss him. he didnt miss me. at 10,000 feet he did a crap and made a direct hit on my head.
