She must like the pump, in all the excitement the poor girl forgot to do up her pants ![]()
I wonder if you can still get these pumps, judging by the vintage of the kite in the clip it has to be at least 5 years old...
I was just looking at this today, sure it's handy and light, and save's you time when your itching to get on the water.....
I don't like the potential to get liquid co2 into your bladders if you don't keep it upright and then pain of having to get it refilled when it's empty......and besides if it was not for my manual pumping how else would it get my heart rate up enough to remind how unfit I am :)
Then I found this......![]()
being the scrooge that i am you could prolly extend your pump body and handle if ya really wanted a longer pump with pvc from bunnings or just put and extender on the base to bring it up
nah think i woul be to lazy for that to lol
c02
s specific gravity is 1.5 times that of air. !!! man that will increase the weight of your kite no end.
Ok, so 30 seconds to inflate the kite...
(The site claims you can fill up kite once of maximum twice if it's smaller)
Now, add to that time to drive to a scooba shop each time before you go kiting, so even if you live close to one, by the time you park your car, and walk to the shop, and wait for attendant, and wait for them to fill it up, and then pay, and then walk back to the car, and drive the car back to your normal route, you could have pumped up 10 kites manually... or even more with a good pump. Not to mention benefit of pre-session warm up whilst pumping.
i reckon, it's maybe cool, but inefficient.
The problem is, you can't take it on the plane.
When I looked at the site they were claiming 10 fill ups...And I think this is true since the pressure is very, very high.
Having a compressor at home helps a bit. The scooba shop will refill for $6.
Oh, and, you can't buy it here since it's not certified for Au (cert is around $20k)
i would suggest not putting co2 into your kite bladders.
there are diferent grades some are cleaner than others but at the end of the day unless you have a good quality polyurethane this gas could cause your bladders to fail prematually.
