A while back we lost one of our mates John Pirona (better known as Joe Cron here on the forums) a ripping guy and kiter and surfer. John was a victim of paedophile priests and was well known for his activism to bring these mongrels and the devils who protect them (please note that I say protect them and continue to protect them and the institution ,not just those who protected them at the time ,this is current and gos to the top)
Tonight a brave NSW cop Detictive chief inpector Peter Fox (please note this guys senior rank) blew the whistle on these low lifes and the machine that protects them in the Roman Catholic church and well beyond and called for a royal comission ,nothing less ,he also spoke to the Newcastle Herald and Jo Mc Carthy the journalist .A Royal comission has powers that go well beyond the regular investigative process . We as a group MUST support these calls for a royal comission .write to Barry O'farrell and other senior leaders and demand nothing less .A downwinder in honour of Joe is a noble cause but we must as a group in honour of poor Johhnny's memory and the hundreds of other victims of these bastards and write and demand a royal comission and justice . Peter Fox must not go down in flames on this one and we must contact the Newcastle HErald and Jo both well respected in Newcastle and the Hunter and show our support .
thanks
Please Go to Abc I View lateline tonight and watch the interview with Tony Jones .It will blow you away .Tell your friends and relatives, maintain the rage and help bring this dreadful saga to a conclusion. It's the least we can do for John ,his family, friends and fellow victims
The police force here and worldwide have a lot to answer for. They know whats going on,but until it becomes a mass media outcry they don't rock the boat. It's easy putting low social status people in jail, however they appear to have reservations pursuing crims of high social standing.
Good on Peter Fox, more and more of this has come forward lately, hopefully the momentum will build and justice prevail. I for one would be happy for the government to spend 2 mil on this, it's much more important than some of the other areas they spend that large budget on.
Here's the lateline interview:
www.abc.net.au/lateline/studio-interview-with-senior-nsw-detective-peter/4362100
Looks like the public are keen, 8000 votes 95% yes!
This government does listen to people if the call is strong enough - the super trawler showed that, it was purely a public outcry that stopped it.
There's a fair bit of comment flying around twitter about it, and twitter's always more in tune with the people and faster than the news sites - which interestingly are not leading with the story, but rather burying the story 1/2 way down the page and making the headline about Hockey and Shorten (both catholics) teaming up to say a Royal Commission's not going to happen.
I think that might change given people's anger.
Religion breeds the exact problems and acts that it tries to exclude and remove itself from.
All religion (cults) really should be banned, it only helps but to divide us.
I hope these mongrels get caught and the catholic church exposed for these heinous crimes. This is disgusting and only further makes me not want to be involved with anything of a religious nature.
R.I.P. John, I enjoyed the things you had to say on here.
Some do, it's a very generalized comment saying they all do and you should be careful when saying such things![]()
It's horrible what happened John, I hope us Newcastle guys can get together for an event for him and his family
How can a church of "christ" protect these SICK fckuen scum!?
I lost a cousin to suicide, Led a life just like John!
RIP shaneo
Religion allows people to see the world the way they want to see it. Religious people do not have to ask themselves the very difficult questions we all ask ourselves.
It gives their minds an 'easy out' so to speak.
Ask any person, who has a strong religious conviction, to explain one of lifes known conundrums and invariably their answer will come down to their faith.
They cannot except any other answer within their own minds.
Similar to psychosis.
this topic is straying a little please go somewhere else for religion is bad/good discussions .the idea of my post is to garner support for Peter Fox's and many others calls for a royal commission.
thanks
This matter is finally starting to gain traction .more and more people of note are speaking up and the resitance is withering.Last night on lateline a Catholic priest who was thrown out for (god forbid )secretly marrying a woman has written a book about his experiences and spoke about some of them last night .I see just now www.abc.net.au/news/2012-11-10/police-inquiry-a-decoy-in-church-abuse-investigation/4364726
This guy is a former cop and current nationals mp he says that Barry O'farrel s announcement yesterday of a "special commission " is a decoy ,I note that he also calls for a national Royal Commission as a state one will not go far enough .Please continue to support these people .Write to them and encourage them .It won't be long and hopefully John and the other poor souls tortured by their personal agony who have taken their lives will RIP and those still alive will find justice and somehow find peace in their own lives .
It was interesting that the guy who spoke last night on lateline spoke of how interminably long investigations take and that this is terrible and torturous for the victims .John spoke of this too.
Thanks again
Can I just say that the 'Hitler was an atheist' arguement is flat out wrong, been disproven many times over.
As for Peter Fox there's been talk on twitter of a possible smear campaign organised by those against him, trying to cast doubt on his psychiatric state. Interesting to see if this angle develops (only if it's pushed as a defensive strategy by the church or it's supporters) and which side of the story the main news sites will present.
it's on . thanks to all here who have played their part in this momentous decision.now keep the pressure for the right terms of reference
The world would be a better place without religion. There is no doubt.
Yeah you are right, all the believers since day dot are fools.
Why dont you stick to inane trolling which you have some competency in rather than bothering with more lofty matters which you clearly have little capacity for.
Interesting reponses today .Barry o'Farrel speaking out in parliament today also interesting to hear from victims of other organisations that were supposed to be 'looking after" children in their care .i think that it is good that these dirty closets will hopefully be cleared by the royal comission .
I have just read an article on the ABC news website re chief inspector detective Peter Fox .it is important that this courageous senior officer who was totally frustrated and spoke out is not forgotten and is supported.although he is critical of elements of the NSW police force he is also very complimentary and supportive of the majority of the force and particularly the new breed of whom he speaks highly of and their professionalism . If it is any comfort Andrew Wilkie is a high profile whistleblower who now enjoys a VERY important role in Australian politics .All the best Peter you have done the right thing and have MANY supporters. Please write to Andrew Scipione the head of NSW police and the premier to voice your support of Peter .
As a side note from speaking to John Pirona he could not imagine this time in his wildest dreams when I spoke with him he and would be proud of the efforts and support of many to get this RC across the line .It is a terrible shame that John can not enjoy the relief and peace that many are now experiencing and that their battle against insurmountable odds is bearing fruit and that most importantly they are finally believed and supported by a community either ignorant ,oblivious or ambivelet to their plight.this is a momentous time in our history
again thanks to everyone here in our little corner of the world
