OLD BAR KITE WEEKEND 16 & 17TH JAN, for fun !!!

hey all, we have a few newcastle guys heading to oldbar sat morning till sunday arvo,(4 hrs north of sydney)

either camping at lanis van park at old bar or in the national park on the beach 200mtrs from the flat water kiting.

im taking my trailer to transport bodys & kite gear onto the beach,let me know how many we expect will show up. the more the better. would be good to see the old bar, port & forster kiters there too. ;-)

Looking forward to seeing everyone that weekend.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we are currently in negotiations with National Parks etc regarding the endangered Little Terns which nest in the Farquhar inlet at Mudbishops. This is a major issue with restricted areas of where you can now kite, the topic is very critical at the moment and if we are not seen doing the right thing we may be banned from the area all together.
Driving, rigging & parking on the ocean side is one of the main issues.

have they stopped people driving on the beach yet?? that will kill the camping area on the flat water side too. bugger,

we dont want to bugger up your chances of kiting there, are we still aloud to rig up & drive on the lake side of the beach, or should we set up on the ocean side??

im not even sure of wind that weekend.

we will probably end up staying in the van park depending on numbers.

hey all. we have around a doz people keen, also a few heading up for the day if the wind is on, ill be going no mater what. unless it persisting down !!!
i`ll know how many spare seats we will have so a few of us can team up in cars,

holly, is your car full?? craig said you bought a tent.

bevan, do you need a lift?? if so can you get your way here sat morn or we can pick you up at the medowie dirt road turn off???

im planing to head up sat morning at 8am from my workshop at sandgate,if anyone wants to meet here if there not sure of the way??

hey holly, i can take 6 people, & gear. i have one or two in my car... i cant get a hold of a mate who`s keen, so if you can get to my workshop by 8am sat you can come with us.

craig also has a few spare seats.

any cars left here will be locked in the workshop while we are away,

Hey Daz,

Have a fun weekend and please take notice of the National Park and Council signs erected in the area for protection of the Salt Marshes and Little Tern nesting areas. If you are driving on the beach side then get your permit from Tourism Office in Forster or Taree or Black Head Shop and read the pamplete supplied.
Unfortunately won't see you there, up in SE QLD having a good time. Hope the wind gods work out and enjoy that flat water.
