Hi Guys,

Planning on heading to old bar for a kiting w/e. I would prefer to stay in the Farqhuar park camp site north of the old bar mouth.

but don't want to have to drive back to manning point and all the way around back to old bar to go kiting.

Does any one know if you are able to launch/land from the beaches on the north side of the manning river/old bar mouth, and if so which wind directions are required.

Thanks for your help,

Matthew.

also does old bar work in a southerly? Ill be there for the next week, with nothing but southerlys forecast. And yes I have checked the nswkba website. I know you have to stay away from the north end of the inlet(birds). If old bar is not the best in a southerly, is there any other good spots to ride (freeride twintip) around the tunncurry area?

Hey Mate

As far as I know you can launch on the north side of the entrance and ride down into the lagoon. Depending on the tide this may be easy (outgoing tide) or hard (incoming tide)
Yes u can ride Muddies in a southly but it will be very gusty if there is no E in it.
If the wind is from the W you can ride at the sailing grounds S of Forster.

Cheers Booga
