Can anyone give me their opinions on the reo 4m and its true wind range,,I currently fly c4's 7,9,and 11 but am finding mysel pretty much fully commited to wave riding now and the 7 is often too much,,I get to steal my girlfriends 5 C4 and its awesome in high 20's +, if there wasnt a Reo I would go straight out and buy the 5 C4, but seen as its a purchase just for waves Im wondering if I would feel the benefit of a wave specific kite, any ideas??

if you mean riding waves with a surfboard then there is a huge difference.

I'm riding a 6m reo and 10m c4 primarily on a twin tip but also with a surfboard.

I find the 10m c4 great in the 18-28knot bracket. it jumps sweet rides waves sweet. but gets punchy in big gusts.

I take the 6m reo out of the bag when wind is gusting past 30 knots. on the TT i've been out in over 40 knots gusting close to 50. Its surely one controllable gust munching kite. also relaunches real fast compared to the c4. thats preety important in big waves and silly high winds. But not as much lift as the C4.

I wouldn't think you would need too much smaller than a 6 Reo. Mine flies pretty small, probably closer to a 5 if anything. I am finding I'm never getting out on my 6, when I used to alway be on my previous 7 Rev.

Thanks for the info guys, Its surfboard all the way, pretty big board at 6"3, just find myself with too much kite on the 7 too often, dont really want to change the 7 because in flat water and high wind I love it with the tt, would the 6 hold down a lot more power, Ive been overpowered on the 7 the last 3 session Ive had on the surfboard,,when I have to depower the c4 a lot the turning doesnt feel so reactive, hmmm decisions decisions :-)

i love c4's but if you're getting a DEDICATED wave kite you'd have to go the reo surely

you would need some serious wind to be over powered on the 6m reo plus I don't see the overlap between a 7m c4 and the 6m reo. One is for flat water and one is for surf.

I've only used the larger and middle sizes in these kites, but if the tiny ones are similar then the 6m REO will have a lot more depower than the 7m C4, and for less bar throw. So even with a small size difference, the ability to hold a line on a wave should be significantly easier on the REO.
