For anyone who missed y'day's session in Sydney -- whatever you did it was probably better than kiting. The wind quality was crap, the currents were atrocious and it was all pretty much a mess. Grrrrrr.

Unless you live/kite or kited on the Southside, it was epic. Tuesday night had Dolls to myself for 1.5hrs and last night Towra for another couple.
Winds were awesome both days, and more expected today.

yeah Steve, Wednesday wind was epic, combined and with outback swell and very flat in close. No swimmers and very small crowd so awesome for some boosts and rolls.

So Thursday I headed northern beaches way thinking that even there would be good with similar winds predicted. Got there about 2pm, it felt like 9 or 10 kite but once off the shore nothing!?!? - and that's not what you want in a 6-8 ft shore break. put up one bigger which suited for a while - any way the water was nice.

Then I look at cbrze and see what happened southside. Is there a wind deflector on the nthrn beaches??? oh! and you can disregard the Nth Bches wind indicator, it's only handy if your deciding what club to hit into the 9th at Terry Hills.

I used to live on the northern beaches, any yes there is some sort of wind vacum going on there, I think it has something to do with the hills right behind the beaches there. I would often come home from the beach dissapointed by the 10-12knot winds only to find it was blowing 20knots at kurnell. Where I live now just up the coast a bit, it is generally about as windy as kurnell, the last 3 days we scored a 25-30 knt NE. I think I need to invest in a 7m

I am born and bred on the northern beaches.. grew up in Darley st Mona vale.. then moved to the golden triangle in Newport/Bungan.. lived at Whale beach, Palm beach, Narrabeen and Warriwood... i am guessing you were kiting between Narrabeen and Collaroy because it can get quite a good shore break there.. But unless it was triple overhead it was NOT a 6-8 foot shore break...Merry Xmas 2U2
