Where are you speller? I live on 16th Ave.. but I'm 3 houses back so the view from my verandah looks more like this

I burnt myself too much yesterday to even think about going out in the sun today... sun behind the clouds combined with a winter tan caught me out totally. Heading to work in the morning with raccoon eyes, can't wait.

Was great with the 17 yesterday, the wind direction was spot on to go from eventide past the pool in one long run, then back again. Tide was perfect for flat water if you didn't mind dragging a fin every now and then..

The missus reckons she saw a dead goat floating in on the tide tho.

Between 9th and 10th ave. Yesterday was good - didn't get out until the tide was up unfortunately - that's some mighty chop with the rebound off the wall! On kid duty today, so missed out, but have the day off tomorrow.

Kid duty, I'm learning all about that one. Luckily for me on Sat all the girls came round to sniff up baby hormones from our little fella, so I got a pass.

Before that it was home reno duty anyway house #1, got it finished, sold it and started all over again on #2, so that claimed most of my kiting time.

I hate high tide, that rebound chop is terrible.
Nothing better than full speed in <10cm of dead flat water. Love the feeling, trimming kite and board trying to get every bit of speed, racing the cars.

I saw a guy heading out around 9th/10th on a bright green kite on Sat, looks like he pumped up around there somewhere. To be honest I prefer the middle these days, either end is too packed. Just has to be low tide for a self launch, or have a helper around.

Even starting at either end depending on the wind direction and doing a small down winder is good in lighter wind. You get the whole middle section to yourself and there is always someone to land and launch you if the tide is high

I was up there a week ago and had a day off in Brissie. Hired some brand new gear from Briskites and had a ball! The good thing about hiring, is that you get to have a go on equipment that maybe you would never normally have a chance to try. In this case it was a Mutiny 12m, which got me fully powered in around 12-15k. Also, a very friendly and helpfull bunch of kiters there at Brighton!
