I'd like to thank the guy with shaved head and the Airush kite who towed two kites to Mullaloo this afternoon, mine and a French girl after we got tangled up. If he hadn't deflated her kite we would have lost both of them. If you drop me a line I'll organise to meet you with a carton of your choice. I'd also like to thank the guy who dragged me back in to the beach and all the kiters and the windsurfer who stopped to see if I was alright. Also the Mullaloo Surf Life Savers who deflated the kite and took it ashore and then drove us back to Pinaroo Point with our gear. It was fantastic how everyone looks out for eachother, I'd like to think that Karma played a part too as I've rescued a couple of kites myself in the past when I was a windsurfer. Thanks again to everyone I'm off for an early night!
Phil
It was such a relief to see you coming back with the life savers! We couldnt see the other kite attached to yours when the kite looped non stop all the way to mullaloo. I so worried that a person was attached to the kite. (if there was someone attached they wouldn't have had much chance with the tight mega loops happening)
Cheers Shan
Your rescuer was NickT and was on a blue 9m C4 , but you can PM him and i'm sure he will appreciate the offer of beer.
No worries Phil, Pinnaroo has a good group always ready to help out.
Wish I managed to pull the kites in before they got to the life saving club but had to let go when that Rebel came too close, then they started looping.
Hope all kites were still intact, maybe check your lines for wear as it looped for ages.
As for the beer just bring an iced up esky next time you kite, if I'm there I'd love one otherwise just share with everyone on the beach as that makes Pinnas,Pinnas
Awesome job by the clubbies, keeping everyone safe and securing the kites.
Nice work there Nick. Phil you had a lot of us very worried, seeing that kite loop endlessly in the distance.
I believe Phil500 might do you a good deal on a tried and tested megalooper? ![]()
