Hey Ste,

Right on. We kited at the island (Pinaroo launch) and moved a pine log upright post and it's concrete base from the wave breaking area also. It was submerging with every wave and it took two of us to drag it up the beach.

The post you are referring to for others benefit, is a 2.5 inch metal tube post sticking out of the wet sand by about 4 inches. It isn't that easy to see but is located directly in front of the beach access driveway down below the high tide mark. I think it was once a marker post or sign post for the old boat ramp that was there years ago and was cut off ages ago, probably at that time, below the sand.

The problem exists because Pinaroo has lost soooo much sand at the moment. The water has been washing half way up the driveway on high tides and all the beach and part the dunes have been washed away.

Take extreme caution when launching, landing and walking around the area where the dunes are, and also around the now destroyed fence (another useless waste of taxpayers money)!

See you at the beach soon!

Hi Ashkiter,

The Joondalup City Council start to clean the beach with the tractor pulling the "Surf Rake". This normally starts in early to mid October. They bring back the garbage bins around the same time. Lots of rubbish on the beach there the other day

The tractor starts at 4am and finishes around 10am so most kiters never meet "Bob and his tractor". He's also a good guy to contact as he finds bars and boards etc even kites! He usually is the first one on the beach in the dark so if it washes up, he finds it first.

Cheers,

KH
