Hey,
Even surfers have long questioned the design logic of pointy noses.
Kiters are like sheep.
Monkey see, monkey do.
lol.
Seriously, is there any performance value from having sharp-nosed kiteboards ?
Nope, can't think of any.
Maybe round noses have better feng shui.
The pointy nose gives the shapers something to line up when setting the fins.![]()
A rounded nose can broach when dropping into a wave if you have too much weight on the front foot.![]()
Boogie boarders are not scared of a rounded nose( sorry that only applies to surfing)![]()
Get a custom board and you can have it shaped how you want it.![]()
Not shore how feng shui works with fiberglass and foam![]()
Been thinking the same thing as tobes for more than a decade.
Don't kid yaself sharp noses are anything other than fashion.![]()
Do pop-out mass produced boards have a shaper lining up the razor sharp nose?

20c piece radius is as sharp as is needed. Back in the day I had a couple of surfboards made up and insisted on a 20c radius. Enough point to do the job but not enough to act as a tri-fin shishkebab.
"One less sharp thing to impale yourself on" Ditto for any swimmers popping up unexpectedly. ![]()
