OK, this is for the Queens crew who don't get or don't read the local paper (probably everybody except me). An interesting article about what the council will do about the damage to Queens North after the king tides. Seems the Donkin St groin (north) is to be extended.
Will mean more flat water so could be a good thing as long as the wind isn't affected. Should be OK on a kite but sailboards will have a drama if they go too far north. Wait and see.
It will still be a crap beach to kite on ...sharks, sharp rocks dangerous launch and land area. Don't know why anyone would go there anyway!!![]()
Yeah it's horrible - deep water, strong tides, lots of sea-life, narrow beach with gusty wind - stay away please ![]()
Yeah, Rick killed a guy there a few weeks ago with a trident.....he should probably lay low for a while....
Come on guys, Queens isn't so bad. No one has ever actually been bitten by one of the bull sharks yet, though Eric had one jump out of the water next to him a couple of weeks back.
And as for the crappy launch area, that guy who screwed it and ended up hitting the bank has recovered nicely, even out of rehab I hear so it isn't all bad.
Also the rocks aren't that sharp, I know of a few kites that have actually landed on them and still been repairable.
i grew up in the cleft and have to say i'm not at all jealous of u guys now i live in the wind capital of the sout hemi!
