Hey Fellow extremists,
Im looking at ordering my first North Rebel,i ride North Vages 09 kites and looking to try the Rebel for the stability in the air.
But im un sure the size kite i should order as i dont know what the depower is like on these kites.
The Vages has very little depower and i ride a 9m and 12m what is the depower like on the Rebel and the wind ranges you can ride it in,most wind here are 25nots av..

Hi Sea Rider, It depends on a few things like your weight , skill etc as to what size rebels you are after, but i would imagine if you already have a 9 , 12 quiver on the vegas i would stick to the same on the rebels, Ive been riding the rebels for a few years now and have tried them all since the 07 range, allthough yet to try this years! Im about 100kg and only an Avg rider and mainly ride in flat to choppy conditions but i have a 9m (2010 model) and 12m (2009 model no centre strut), Although im probably a little heavier than the Avg riders weight the depower and wind range on the rebels is excellent, The 12m will get me going in anything from 15knots and have been out when its over 30 knots (although overpowered but man do they have some hang time when you let a big boost go in that sort of wind
!!) and the 9m (2010 model seems more grunty than the 2009) i usually go out in from 25 knots up!! but can get going in abot 18-20 knots on a 134 09 jamie pro (remember 100kg)! Overall love the rebels very forgiving if you stuff a trick up they just float up there and each year less and less backstall and generally easy to relaunch! Only problem ive ever had is that it will invert every now and then, generally when i stuff up a loop, dont think it likes having to get that weight through the air, Other than that go for it great kites!!!
Hi Searider,
Why not come up and demo ride one at our beach tomorrow. Lots of wind and we have the rebel and vegas as well as many others to try all in the one spot, then you'll know eh?
