Anyone know anything, mate at work said a kiter had taken out the power lines at Kurnel today Monday the 27th.

I think his wife called him to tell him, he is a resident, and Kurnel had no power.

Any truth to this?

If you ask Japie it was the Israelis

If you ask Petermac33 it was the FBI

If you ask the Doctor it was a windsurfing Israeli from South Africa

This is the third post i have seen on this, first one was someones grandma called him, second was accusing someone of giving lessons. Both posts have since been deleted.

Going to have to call BS on this one.

Yeh, I had a few looks thru and have not seen anything in the kiting section at least.

Just curious on the events that may or may not have taken place.

Yes one of them was 7 ft tall - the other was 3 ft and thought hed help out the guy with his kite at 12 near powerlines by holding onto one of the O>S rings

How STOOPID was the little guy for holding on to that !!!!!!

Dumbarse of the month award for sure

no he wouldn't get zapped, the powerlines would get "Sanz'd"

We had a crazy gust shoot through here today too.
It was calm and black outside and i was thinking "huh, so much for 20 kts today" not 4 minutes later it was blowing a freaking gale and then it pissed down for about 2 minutes, then it remained nice and windy for the rest of the day.

nah they got power back at around 8pm that night. According to the guys fixing the lines it was a kite of some description.

Looks like it might of been the old yank benji franklin. He's a bloody menance ties his car keys to the bridle, and kites in electrical storms, going to get us banned for sure

Don't worry guys, I'm ok now. The fire brigade said I was very lucky because the kite lines arced out up high between themselves instead of running down lower and passing 100% through my body. The only bad thing is that they said they were going to put a word into the council considering that they ban kiting at Kernell.
