As a pom id like to appologise to the fifo kiting community, due to the demand for gold from the british olympic team means youll have to work harder and spend less time kiting and time with your family, this is not isolated to the gold industries as the aussies need heaps of copper and tin to produce bronze.

Just as well there is bugger all gold in a gold medal then... I think it's down to about 1.5% of weight now...

I don't think you've even taken half the gold contained in one dump truck, on one trip out of the Kalgoorlie Superpit, I don't think it's too much of a burden on the FIFO guys

Kindly notes that overtime will also be required to produce gold for New Zealand's medals as well. :)

Nah credit where credit is due, the brits have done really well and we have landed more silver than is necessary.

They spent big the brits (on a number of aussie coaches) and let's face it, sh1t weather, sh1t job prospects, recession in full flight....gotta give me something.

Newsflash!! FIFO workers are doing it for the money. The more the better. (and the sooner they get to pack it in and spend the dosh on toys whilst you poms are still waiting for the GFC to recede so you can get your jobs at Sainsburys back)

As a pom i find it hilarious that the aussies who spend most the time bagging the kiwis out, try to side with them to make it look like you're doing better at the Olympics!!!

Brits have done well. I'd say dividing their tally by 4 (separate countries) would be a fair comparison.

Looking forward to the next Olympics to watch the kite-racing, are there any Aussies that are right up there in the racing scene ATM?

that grouping of the medals - did the journalist that did the table have a flashback and think they were in 1956 or something. Don't think the medals are actually gold.. would be interested to see medals vs money invested by each government...

Half of the British sportsmen are really seth efriken. They should split the medals.

Got to love the cycling. China takes a dive In badminton they get disqualified. Britain takes a dive in cycling it's called a misunderstanding.
