I just updated my spreader bar to the slingshot surefire spreader bar believing it would be a safer chicken loop release system, but when riding waves toeside I have had the chicken loop pull out of the hook on a few occasions
. I think it happened because of the angle that the chicken loop was pulling on the hook. If the loop drops down and then is pulled to the side a bit it comes out very easily. The plastic chicken dick thing on the hook doesnt seem to be rigid enough to stop this happening. Has anyone else had this happen and is there a way to fix it . Help appreciated
not the ideal for toeside riding, mine bent then snapped off taking the leash with it, had it a few years though, most of the new releases a good so haven't bothered replacing it...
craig
you can have mine if you want. i don't need it anymore as i don't keep buying crappy kites that come with crappy bars that fall apart after 20 mins. come around and pick it up
what's the point of the surefire spreader bar when i think all kites made from 06 came with a bar that has a spinning leash system and a quick release on the safety. i used mine on my 04 fuel for the reason that the kite came with a bungee leash with no QR and the ring you connect the leash to the bar is on the back line making it a non spinning leash bar. the surefire spreader bar fixed it.
i've got one sitting in my garage not being used if you want it.
pfr thanks for the offer but why would I want another one that has the same design fault as mine. Still working on making a different plastic gate thing to replace it.
