Hi I am one of those "euros" you have been talking about in so many good words 
I have a few questions regarding Kite surfing in the Perth area, so I will give it a go.
I have recently started kite surfing in Sydney and I have been quite successful in it so far so I can't be placed under the label of "noob" anymore (25 sessions). I am now moving to Perth, more exactly Rockingham for some time and I have read that Safety bay is a amazing place to Kite surf on.
What I wounder is for a kite surfer that hasn't started doing areal tricks is it okey to surf the "Pond" that I have heard loads about or should I stick to a place called Shoalwater till I get to enjoy the "pond" a bit more?
Talked to a local here in Sydney about kiting in perth and he tells me my 12m kite is a bit to big for the weather conditions in perth is that true? (12m 08 Naish Helix, 132cm board and I weigh 72kilo).
I will only stay in Perth for about 6weeks and I would love to experience some good kiting while I am there. Any outher spots I should check out while I make my visit there?
Witch wind graph should I look at to get the correct wind measurement for safety bay?
I am asking these questions now so I don't rock up to the pond and piss of any locals. I have heard you have had some problems with ouer kind "euros" and I hope you can forgive uss.
If I do something wrong please come and give me a bitchslapp. I will be riding a pink and black kite 
I hope my visit to Safety bay will inspire outher euros to respect the locals that have to live and fight for there right to kite surf at great spots, while we travelers only rock upp and destroy.

the main problem locals have are the tourists rocking up thinking they own the joint and thinking they are better then us because they are from another country. unfortunately 99% of those are from Europe but i have met far more Europeans who are great and considerate. my advise is head down to the local spot, watch for 30 min and make up your own mind if you can kite well enough then have a friendly chat to locals setting up. treat them like your a guest in their home and they will be eating out of your palm in no time :)

well for starters you cannot be classed as a "euro" as you have asked what the deal is with certain spots :)
Safety bay is fine for someone of your skill level. My advise is to forget the pond all together and drive further around the penguin island .
I agree with Dusta Kristoffer, Head around to Penguin Island and ask questions of the locals there. If you talk to people and ask questions about the spot (ie: anything you should know specific to the spot etc) then you should find 99% of the crew there more than welcoming I kite around there and if you want someone to head down and kite with, PM me as that's where I kite mostly.
Also want to say good on you for doing the right thing and being considerate of locals and promoting a good relationship between tourists and them (us).

Thanks for the information guys! I will head out to pinguin island then for my first session:) but what graph should I be looking at before I head out and what wind directions are ok to kite there on? Should I look at garden island and mandurah or something else?
Trying to gather as much info before heding over to Perth.

For the most accurate wind measurement for the "pond" and "Pingos" (Shoalwater) check out Graphs - Western Australia - Metro - Than scroll down the page until you see the graph titled "Garden Island".
As far as the Pond gos...If you have started areal tricks, can bear off downwind, turn around quickly, stay above the moorings in the middle of the pond - so you don't piss off the wind-surfers and can keep heading towards the weed bank, not just hogging the flat water, than no, you wont piss of any locals...

About the 12m - Bring it, youll use it a lot as soon as the seabreeze disappears... the other kite size you should get is an 8m. when ya cant hold down the 12 - the 8 will be perfect and funaz
When you do eventually get in the pond, just be wary of the guys doing big air jumps or loops as they can travel down wind like being shot out of a gun ..
just observe where they normally jump from and follow the circuit etc

I've been a qualified sky diver for 2 years now and there is nothing cheap about it. Gear is around 3g second hand. Then ad aod 2.5g. Altimeter few hundred, jumpsuit 500. then you start paying for your ride up. 35 bucks a pop isn't much but when you do 4-5 a day it turns in to well over 150 bucks for less the 4 min of fun.. Then you have anual packs for your reserve and services on you aod. On saying that I wouldn't give the sport up for anything... Except lack of money which is now
