Stepped on a stingray today at altona bugger stung me on the top of my foot recon that didn't hurt . Ambos were driving passed and stopped . Now lying in hospital drugged to the eyeballs waiting for tests and x rays
Not fun at all
OUCH!! Good thing the Ambo's found you ,I was watching a doco on stingrays the other night they have poison on their barb with heaps of bacteria in it Which can cause bad infections . Hope you have a quick recovery .
no good mate.. sorry to hear..
geez .. sting rays, x-rays ...... i bet u feel like this ray right now..
I sympathise mate. Did the same thing last year however the barb was embedded in my foot - had to be surgically removed - two days in hospital. Panadol forte, morphine, full anaesthetic foot block didn't even take the edge off the pain. Wasn't until I awoke from surgery 2 hours later that the pain had subsided from a 9 to a 7. Wore reef boots for next 6 months but back to bare feet again. Check it out. The picture of the wound was 10 days father it happened. Worst thing was 3 weeks no kiting. Sorry if ur squeamish.
stingray got me last year, brought him onto the boat to remove the hooks, only a small ray, big pain, hot water the only help until a local jab. Hope it heals up Ok bro.
i was lucky hit me on the top of my foot and bounced of the bone. but still got a full shot of the venom. Hurt like a ______ but i got lots of free drugs and after 10hrs they let me go with a script for more free drugs. Medicinal only in case of pain
Bet you the ray has a head ache
Damn beanz, 545am and over a coffee I see that! That's is one insane barb! Yeh saw that doco as well, what do the locals local them..'wish you were dead' fish cause if you get stung the pain is so intense you wish you were dead!!
I've got 2 scars on my left ankle from 1 sting ray, first when I was 10 where the barb went in, the pain was intense, I toughed it out initially but months later it got pusy and I had surgery to get it out.
Next scar is from 17 years later when a rouge barb protruding (spike outward) about an inch away the entry wound, It was just a scab that wouldn't get better so I dug around with some tweezers, grabbed something that got thicker as I was pulling it out, a little painful but got the spike out.
Sting rays are stupid buggers, I've always avoided them when spearfishing
Rays are worse imo. Theres a common fish called happy moments you get up north that hurts more than cobbler.
About 10-15 seconds of euphoria followed by hours of pain. Jack daniels fixed it last time ![]()
