Just noticed the stitching on my noise kite has started to come undone in the join between the middle strut and the kites canopy. The undone part would be roughly 20cm in length starting nearest to the leading edge.
Checking out my options for repair. Im assuming its possible to stitch this back up together (might get the mrs crafty fingers on that one) but any idea on the type of thread used (BWS noise) or is this strictly a job for a kite/sail repair pro.
dont stuff with it your self send it off to monti (do a search) he is real quick and dose a great job the price is alright to
I was a marine trimmer in a past life; I'm not sure about kites, but I used 100% bonded polyester thread on all my marine applications.
I'm guessing that thread size 20 or 25 would be the go on a kite.
However, it's probably better in the long run to get it done professionally, after all you'd have to buy a cone of thread you may not need to use again, your domestic machine may not be able to handle the thread either, and unless your seamstress is especially crafty, after many years of trimming experience, I have seen some not so perfect results come from domestic sewing machines.
If you were in my area, I'd offer to look at a repair like that for you for a beer or two :)
