Well mt two teenage sons have learnt in the last 3-4 months and in between being the board/kite bitch , dodging 4 wheelers and having the odd sail myself, i managed to capture a few shots at my local. hope you enjoy
A beautiful story, at anytime, especially this time of year.
Good on your tractorguy, imho you are a great father.
It's hard enough to get your own session in, when you are looking after two learners who are your total responsibility, well, as you say, no chance for dads session - a total sacrifice for your children.
As a dad, in these kind of situations, I imagine how they will look back on this in years to come, this is a potentially a pivotal moment in their lives.
Kudos to you my friend.![]()
The spot looks great, flat water and plenty of wind, nice. Adds more weight to the sacrifice you made.
nice work mate, i cant wait till i can do the same with my boys, a bit young and a bit light at the mo
the spot looks great where is it ? (PM me if you want to avoid the spot police)
They will be ready in no time at all for the nationals, Marv is organising them just up the road from you guys again in June.
sweet location, and even better with the family...I guess you don't have to pull their arms to go out for a kite...beats the hell out saterday soccer.
Thanks for the positive vibe guys ![]()
As a dad It is unreal to see the lift they get from the challenge of going outside there limits and sometimes getting burnt and smashed to making it, and they are just learning.
i am counting off the kilo's of my sons weight till he reaches the min amount which i hear is about 40kg till can start learning,
only 33to go, cant wait!!
great pics
That second last photo... Victoria point bout monthish back (think I'm the brown fone)?! I've been kiting around the same time as your sons then! Was he flying a c4 and throwing down unhooked back rolls?! Well and truly inspired to unhook from him being so young, no idea he had been kiting for this short amount of time!
Sounds like the day just before new year. Was not sure what they were up to out on the water but they luv it, i was busy preparing my last rights. Never seen so much water activity at once, thought for sure there would be some umwanted contact , either a boat, a poley, or mangroves on the northen edge.
This you and your crew on the large
lay down area ?
yeah thats it!! haha we have a few locals yes :) no where near as many as up at redcliffe, that area is suicidal territory!
having said that we have had a bit of action with poleys (I was a casualty once unfortunately =[) and the boats!! most of them have the idea that the local cove is the water sports goers den, but a few tend to try and make a nuisance of their boat positioning =[
but congrats on raising some pro's in the making!! wish I'd taken it up earlier to try give them a run!!
