Tide is out. (Same with my cup)
You would think the storm would push the water right up the beach.
There you go, Darwin tides are stronger than cyclones.
Hoff told me ya almost needed a parachute to step off the boat ramp after it.

Lucky for us the tide started out low when the cyclone was over Casuarina Beach but by the arvo tide came up and absolutely decimated (sp?) the foreshore, took about 5 to 7 meters of the sand dunes back so now the surfclub has no ramp, just a drop off. The amount of trees and power lines that came down was amazing, power lost for a couple of days in some suburbs. Not as bad as poor Yasi affected Misson Beach though, thank God!
The riding got missed on video, the missus just couldn't hold the camera still enough, infact she couldn't hold the 4m to launch and land Stainless, there was way too much rain anyway. So much rain, we had the wettest Febuary on record in Darwin.
For me to get rag dolled on a 7m and Tone to get man handled on a 4m is something, definitely something different for us anyway being used to 16, 17 or 18m kites. The surfclub care taker said his anemometer broke away but he did see 55 knots just before it did (so he says).
Stainer and I just did for the bragging rights. Checking the radar later that night, too my surprise it was right over where we were kiting. It circled around Darwin then took off sou'west, but not after it dumped a sh!t load of rain.

I misse you guys when I was up there a few weeks ago, but ha an awesome afternoon session at the surf club by myself!
