A 13m ALIBI will suit your needs. Nothing worse than flying a kite too small and underpowered. Small kites tend to stall a lot and eventually give you tendinitis in your arms.

Yeah I can relate to that. Have been using a big kite for a year or so in light and strong wind and doing long sessions, with no arm issues. Recently started flying a smaller kite and loved whipping it around and constantly moving it on light days but developed a severe case of tendonitis on the upperside of the forearm toward the wrist end.

Is this a common cause of such problems?

I have get tendonitus in one arm, off and on the last ~6 years. (basically i write an essay n i'm in a lot of pain). Been seeing a physio for the past few weeks and amazingly doing better even tho its the lead up to my exams... He says its origins are from a fall I had back 6yrs ago and the neck is still out, causing pinching of nerves/muscle and thus the pain in my arm, and not actually the repetition being the ultimate culprit! Seeing as I'm doing a lot better from whatever he is doing I may have to agree. The fall I had was never anything to really note, and never would have linked one with the other, but u may want to look into something being wrong in your neck/shoulders. But I've been thro a lot of experts and am not holding my breath for this guy to fix it once n for all. Either way my sympathies I manage to kite ok with my wrist and fly 5m.

Well I have been anti Chiropractor for ever (seemed to me a bit harsh on the body) but my baby girl had a bad case of colic (baby screams uncontrollably for hours), was referred to the Chiro by 2 people. Took her there, the baby came home a totally different kid.

I started going just to see whats it all about, been suffering from hayfever ever since I gave up smoking 5 years ago, all sorted out, also have the beginning of a sway back (you push your stomach out and stick your ass out) but have not had major changes as I suppose you can't fix something thats been wrong for years. Some improvements are: no more(minimum) sinus issues, better balance, focus and clarity.

All I am saying maybe you should go to the Chiro, especially if its a pinched never. The only downside is that seems like they trap you in indefinite but I will give them a couple of months and see were it goes.

The other option is to get a tight strap that goes around your fore arm, it may help.

This post is a bit long winded but
Good luck
Rich

just got to get a good chiro/physio that doesn't want to see you longer than you need, some try and make u permanent patients by not fixing it completely... try bodywise in claremont, I see dough, he's more of a physio but cracks my back for me pretty nice. He tells u exactly what is going on, what he's doing and a timeframe. And if the appointment only takes 30 and ur booked for 45, he only charges the 30. The receptionist does my health care claim right there and then too!!

Hey rich.. Did the same thing when my baby girl was born... didn't really sort her colic though. My back and shoulders certainly loosend up. My missus went as well cause she put her back out giving birth. A few months of chiro didn't sort her at all.... one session at the osteopath sorted her straight away.

Based on my experience, I'd tend to see a osteo before going chiro to sort out niggles.

I regularly do a lot of stretches etc as a preventative measure and works for me to control my tendonitis issues, as Miss Jessie said they can usually stem from other sources like neck/nerves etc.

Have found keeping the arms warm while kiting helps too, i sometimes use a smoothskin rashie top over my wettie to control evaporative cooling which used to freeze my shoulders/elbows when just cruising.

But then of course if the prescribed teaspoon of cement works for you then your laughing ;)
