Im pretty fresh as far as learning to kiteboard goes and while pottering around in the Maroochy river on boxing day I managed to loose my board upwind and it was swiftly being taken straight out the river mouth.

This is just a big thanks to the kiter to gave up 5 minutes of his session to rescue my board and drop it off to me. Much appreciated.

Glad you had your board returned to you but Cotton Tree is no place for a beginner to be kiting when its 6-8 foot out the back.

Pretty sure that the kiter that got your board for you was Clint (riddim1)

No bother at all sean99. It was certainly one of the heaviest days to be riding.....definitely not a day for a beginner. I had a long chat with the SLSC before I went out letting them know where i was planning kite....even with 7 years under my belt I still felt nervous....just from the shear volume of water moving about. Im super glad I found your board mate as for my first couple of tacks up-wind I was actually looking for a body.
Put it down as a learning experience pal and I look forward to seeing you out there again soon.

It definately was a heavy day. You probally didn't notice me at first because I was actually kiting up river just off the small lagoon on the North shore (near where you always see guys getting lessons) nowhere near the mouth or swell. I had a 400m run around the bend to try to catch up to the board.

I haven't actually been out in the mouth and traffic yet. Still a few months off I think, have just started to get my carve turns down in my last session yesterday

Anyway thanks again riddim1, and sorry if a floating board with no apparent rider gave you a fright!
