Thumbs Up

Don't know who posted this a few weeks ago, but I read that someone mentioned during a self rescue they used their surfboard as a rudder while laying on the kite.
Today I had to do my first self rescue in a long time, kite loop gone wrong. I was a fair way out, 400 meters or so, and after trying to fly my kite which was inversted and rolled several times I had no choice but to go into rescue mode. Once I secured my kite and set it up as a sail, I grabbed by board and started kicking. I was headed on a trajectory toward a rocky platform, and then I remembered what someone had mentioned about the board as a runner. Worked like a charm and was able to hold ground while heading in on a straight sideshore wind.
So, whoever posted that little tidbit, thanks!
