I have 3 kiddies amping to get on the water so I was on the market for a small kite preferably dirt cheap.

Scored yesterday a 2009 starkite 5 metre for $100 (ex school kite) with the bar and the bag (thanks see breeze for the add ).

It had 2 litle tears, one in the main panel and one at the end of those silly little batons.

Stopped at cambridge st opposite the Wembley hotel on my way home and neil drops everything on the spot, "no sweat i will fix that for you straight away"

He proceeds to spend an hour fixing bits here and there while having a great chat then hand it back to me and says, that will be $20

Sometimes you need to show your appreciation and I couldn't pay him that little for the labour that I am absolutely unable to do myself so I gave him $40 and walked out with a big smile and a decent complete kite for $140.

Top job, top bloke and I can't wait for 35 knots
(although it is pink)

Disclaimer: I have absolutely no affiliation and just wanted to say thanks

Hey CHarl,

You need to see the Kite Doctor Dean for Harny repairs, Neils machine wont go through that much material. Try Dean on 0417915868

Neil always pretty much stops what he is doing and has, I think, always done my kites on the spot for me and at a pittence. We both love a chat so often spend excessive amounts of time whilst Neil works chatting away.

All Neil's repairs are done with care and passion. (08)93875676

I'm proud to call Neil my friend

Good on ya bloke!

Neil Taylor is an absolute gentleman. He has been making kites 15 years before kitesurfing began and has been repairing them ever since. I had a close affilliation with Neil and he repaired over 60 kites, line mods. etc. His biggest problem is he charges too little. No one ever has complained about the quality of his work, and most people who have torn LE-TE cant see the repair... you have to show them the extra panel.
A master of his craft.

I picked up my kite on the way home from the airport (Bali holiday) and I paid for my repair with Rupiah.

Tight@rse! Bet you wanted a massage too.

Neil's da man for sure. Top quality repairs ASAP and a good chin wagger on all matters. Good thing he doesn't charge for the time chatting - he'd be operating out of Peppermint Grove if he did!

BTW - a few yrs ago, when my harny needed sorting, Neil suggested the bootmakers accross the road (next to the lunch bar) and they were equally nice (cheap too). It didn't look a $million but did the job.

Great score for ya squids sebol. Best of luck getting em into it. How old are the squids?

My eldest is nearly 8 but hasn't been super keen yet. I reckon around 10-ish he may start to be interested. Youngest is only 5 and he says he wants to fly but has a long way to go yet.

Only have had one repair done by him and it was first rate. Cant even see it.
Just dont fill his shop up with sand when you take it out of the bag or he will have you on the vacuum cleaner!!
