Now if you do the QR first off, you may find yourself getting hell dragged.

Sorry slave but thats crap advice,first thing you should do is punch out on the QR ,in most situations this will stop the kite flagged onto the water and slow down the loop,then if the kites still relaunching and looping release the safty,IMO always release the safty last,gotta think of other kiters as well as yourself.
Death Loops? How often do they happen these days anyway? The new gear seems to be pretty resistant to it. What are you riding Slave? 2002 4 line C kites with no depower and an improvised QR? Remember when guys used to heavily modify their bars? Ah, what a waste of time that is these days...
Don't death loops normally happen as a process of dropping the bar? How do you get into death loops hooked in??
