wow. some serious planning. and a spectacular achievemnt/result. but i didnt get the blow dryer on the board???
Awesome movie, no wonder he made it, it was his life's obsession for about a year, very focussed and talented kiter! Great message that Lewis is promoting too!!
Great clip and very inspirational. Thanks for posting that Laurie, I'm thinking of jumping Brisbane Gateway Bridge now ![]()

I'd love to see him boost on a ozone edge, the video would be a couple of minutes longer, watch him on YouTube jumping worthing pier with his mate, also a wicked watch.
^^^ the blow dryer is to clean and dry the board for applying sponsor logos. Pretty sure relentless, pome's version of Mother would have something to say if he wasn't fully pimped for the media. Guess they should have also shown him applying the logo. Doh.
Great watch.. but more importantly a realization that it was a carefully planned enterprize.
The man had a dream, regardless of what the dream was, went about research, preparation, checked his gear and all other possible mishaps. It seems he covered as much as information it was at this disposal before he made the decision to attempt the jump. He foretought his physical preparation as a factor as well and went about it the best he knew of.
This little film shows the event as being far fetched from the "media hype" as a reckless stunt. I take my hat to the man, more so now as a new slant has been shown.
The message he's taking to the general public about kitesurfing is definately where we should be following in his steps. The planet definately needs more such cruzaders.
Here's one for the environment and a special hooray for our fellow pommy kitesurfer.
Great vid.

My local kite spot. I live a mile from the pier (its huge - cant believe he cleared it!).
Not the best kiting spot, right there by the pier. But westward (Worthing, Lancing, Shoreham or Littlehampton) are all great kite spots, especially at low tides. Lewis is almost always there. Local hero, jammy bast-rd! ![]()
Fantastic that he's managed to use the sport to bring a message of Environmental awareness too. Stunts like this just serve to give him more of a voice.
Had to have a chuckle though when he said "the kids are coming up with ways they can make their schools more Economically friendly. ( I think he meant to say environmentally friendly - even funnier that nobody picked it up in the edit):-)
Good video,
I still think even though he went through all those preparations it was pretty risky like he said it all comes down to the 10 seconds before the jump to assess the waves the wind etc. I can see to much going wrong given you really can't control these variables but still props to making it happen.
Also I think I heard him say before the jump he had never flown that 6m before, all the stuff about checking the lines and the kite IMO is a bit of wank he used a different kite... and he had never used it before..
