Power Balance were busted by the ACCC last year. Anyone found to be selling them and claiming that they are anything beyond a rubber band are subject to a $10,000 per incident fine.

You should send him the ACCC link and ask him if he thinks he can sell them for more than $10k each in Australia, in which case the proposal might make sense...
