Need a KiteSurf board travel bag ASAP. Flying Thursday morning and only just figured out that the Whip doesn't fit in my bag. Does anyone know where I can buy a suitable bag in Sydney area?
Do the standard surfboard travel bags allow enough room for a few kites and a twin tip? Or do you suggest to oversize the bag?
I bought an Ozone travel bag that fits a tt's and 2 kites - and then you jamb in the flattened out harnes and pump etc - and then it starts to become a heavy bag!!
My Ozone doenst have wheels as this only adds more dead weight to the package (air hosties / pansies go for the wheely bags).
I had heard that I should have got a 'golf bag' as apparently golf bags travel free WTF - not in Oz with our budget carriers - only way to limit bagage cost is limit the weight and prebook excess baggage.
As previous post said - your local kitesurf shop is in the best position to help you out - and only 4 days to go ! - you lucky bugger - where are you off too??
But with the Whip - padding / protection is a must as I hear the carriers just dont care
9 days up the WA coast in 4x4 with 2 mates, our swags and our kite gear.![]()
I have a kite coffin for the twin tip and kites. Might pack that with all the light gear, and take one kite bag out as hand luggage and load it with all the heavy stuff, then take surfboard as my second prebooked luggage. Will bubble wrap it and get a travel bag for it... 23kilo per bag and need to bring swag and sleeping bag too...
Taking an Evo 8m, a brand new Evo 10m 2013
and an Evo 13m. Could possibly leave the 13m behind but I'd kick myself if there are any 15kn-18kn days and I didn't bring it. Plus it's a fun kite to BOOOOOOST! [}:)]
