Hi all!

The water in sweden is getting pretty cold now so I've gotta get out of here!!
Two friends and I just bought tickets to Cairns in november and we'll have our kite stuff with us. Have to be in Sydney in late januari but except that.. there's no plan. Any tips on great spots (and wind directions) in qld would be much appreciated. Oh and it have to be flat water and nice, safe places since we aint that good yet

Geraldton and some other places within 300klm (in Western Australia) has consistent wind from September till April.
East coast will definitely have 3-4 days of good wind in a year.
Have a great trip!

Hi Elin

Don't expect to kite in Cairns in November. Their season is from late June to October. Go south to The Sunshine Coast (about 2000km south of Cairnes) for summer seabreezes in qld.
Check out www.aksa.com.au for details and contacts in each state.

Sydney in January is good for kiting (10-20 knots 5/7 days) www.nswkba.com.au for kiting locations.

Hi mate,

you can kite heaps in November 100km North of Townsville at spot called lucinda. Gets 20-25knts summer seabreezes and awesome flatwater.
Last year November was one of our windiest months in NQ :)

here is lucinda:
