I've been Googling for new tricks. I just saw tumble turn in a list of kiting tricks but I can't find it on Youtube. (only wakeboard and barefoot tumble turns) Anyone got a video of the kiteboarding version?
As an ex comp barefooter I've done heaps of these, forward, basic, reverse and backwards. Thought this one might be an easy one to add to my kiting trick list.
If it is that same trick it is very similar to the darkslide also to the handplant/backroll + loop. All looped just different initiations..
Ill try record one tomorrow see if that's what your looking for.
I know the trick your talking about I'll find a video of it done wakeboarding.
There is no reason it can't be done behind a kite.

1:35 Wakeboard tumble turn
Thanks for your input. I'll bet it's an oldie in kiting now not done.
Got the hand drag backroll loop a little while ago.
Just doing darkslides now.
Agree the tumble turn looks like a variation on these.
Now on my list for August kite holiday.
Note to self: Wear neoprene. Try in very smooth water
It's a barefoot watersking trick. Been around forever.
Never seen anyone doing it while kiting.........well, not on purpose!!!
thats it!!
I only learnt them couple of days ago whilst learning those other tricks, its the easiest of the lot, less timing/speed control required, just fall into it really, almost like the backroll... slowly looping whole time then 4/5 of way round [edit: of the sliding rotation] pull bit harder. As you've said very similar to the darkslide.
nb. was doing it yesterday with just boardies, no rash or anything, harness probably took the brunt of it!
noo! the trick we are after is the one in shawn murrays video where your sliding on your back on the water doing a rotation, then you just loop out of it onto your feet
