I am staying 30 seconds walk away from Umina Beach this weekend, and there is a decent NE forecast this afternoon.
Looking at the map, it looks like it would be pretty much dead crosswind up the north end of the beach, with it coming around to side-onshore as you get down to the Pearl Beach end.
I know places up around the Entrance are a better bet in a NE, but I have no transport today to get there.
All the websites indicate Umina for a SE - is there something about Umina beach that makes it a no go in a NE that will become clear once I actually step on the beach?
