Hey there. I'm flying into Brisbane right after the Melbourne Cup and would love to hook up with some local kiters to check out kite spots in the area (I respect the importance of local knowledge!). Looks like there might be some wind next week too, if the forecasts hold up! I'm still sorting out a cellphone, but can be reached by email at [email protected].

I've got three weeks to travel around the Gold/Sunshine coasts as well, and would love to get suggestions for chilled out beach towns that are kiter friendly!

Many thanks,

pete

Hey, I came across a location guide on the internet at kiteboardinglocations.com when I was trying to find out about places to kite in SE Queensland. It has a heap of places listed and gives some great info about them. Maybe just what you are looking for?

Nice pimpety pimp mate. Your first post too! Why the hell would people pay for what they can get for free? (sure, in all fairness, they said that about bottled water). But seriously, that site is a laugh. WAH EXTREME SPORT use our map or you will DIE!!!

Kitesurfing, kite surfing, kiteboarding or flysurfing ( French), are all names for the same sport. Kiteboarding is one of the latest sports under the heading #65533;#65533;extreme'. Why is it categorized so? Mainly because it gets the adrenaline pumping if travelling at up to 60 knots per hour and jumping 7 metres into the air does it for you. However with all extreme sports there is an element of danger. There are a number of ways to reduce the risks involved but one obvious one is to kite with other people and in locations which are recognized spots.

breathe, try
http://www.kitebeaches.com/search.html (search brisbane / gold / sunny coast)
Also, search Seabreeze.
I won't be there till after xmas, otherwise I might help out.

PS Dutchy, up to your usual standard..
