Day 2 started cool with a light offshore breeze with the front that cause the rain and onshore wind having passed through overnight. By eleven o'clock we had a 15-20 knot southerly to start the comp. Three head height and over peaks to choose from in the comp area. So the Masters, Legends and Open divisions got underway with the conditions as close to perfect as possible, Wedge Island really turned it on! The competitors coming from Margaret River through to Geraldton (plus a few from Europe and North America) worked their way through some 24+ heats. It's pretty safe to say everyone enjoyed the day, the competition, the kitesurfing, the Monster Girls haha but just not the Wedge Island sand!!!

A huge thanks to Kite Addiction who were our sponsor for the third year in a row. Thanks to the WAKSA crew in planning including approval and the guys that helped over the weekend from setting up to pack down. Thanks to the scarborough boys for judging and generally lending a hand. Thanks to phil for a long day of timekeeping. Thanks to Rich Swingewood for the trophies that he hand made - a huge personal effort and they looked great.
For all competitors that were not at presentation your trophies and prizes are available for your collection at Kite Addiction. Remember EVERYONE gets a prize so head and see Dan or Reg at Kite Addiction and let them know your a competitor and you weren't at the presentations and they will sort you out.
awesome work russ and everyone else that helped get the show on the road. just wish there wasnt only one a year. I vote for another one or two comps this summer!
You are DA MAN - Russ.
Sensational organisation. Absolute clockwork from start to finish.
And everyone knew what they were doing - unbelievable - no hint of chaos.

Hey Rich those trophies look awesome and must have taken you some time.
I was stoked to get one and my kids have taken it to school today for show and tell and I explained to them that the Amateur division is the premiere division
. So your hard work is appreciated by more than you could have imagined.
Again thanks to all involved in putting together such a great weekend.
The gods were kind. The wind blew, the sun shone and the swell jacked up but Russ was there to take full advantage of all that and coordinated a superb event while all the time sneaking out for heats and grabbing his own golden fin trophy as his 1st prize in Legends. Yes truly a legend and thanks so much. Thanks to the judges and support crew too.
