G'day all,
I was wondering if anyone knows, if a board is replaced under warranty, then the same thing happens to replacement, does the warranty period start from original date of purchase for the original purchase or from the date you recieve the replacement?
Thanks for your time,
cheers,

It's 12 months from the date you purchased it... Although if the board keeps breaking time and time again, then there's obviously a problem as the board's not working properly.
Take it up with your dealer and chances are you'll get it sorted out.
If you stack your car and write it off..
Is it still under warranty?
How long have you had the board for? Your weight?? 100-120kgs+??
Lastly which type of board is it?
Warranty is from initial purchase. If its 12 months, and it fails at 11 months and 27 days, its covered. However, the new board does not get an additional 12 months. Soon as first warranty period is finalised, that's it for any warranty.
However, should the product have a re-occurring issue, then the manufacture should make good. It is purchased under guide that its "fit for purpose" and should this not be the case, supplier is required to refund or make good.
Hope this helps.
If I was a big fella, as I believe you are, I'd be looking at custom boards with heavier layups than usual and even heavier cores - twintip (maybe spruce or something else stiffer than pawlonia?) or sb (denser blank).
For production boards, if they were made strong enough for 120kg fellas they'd be far too heavy and stiff for we smaller folk - it would be commercial suicide. Production boards are made to work around an average set of parameters. If you're outside of that average, you'll need a board outside of it too I'd reckon, and that'll prob give you better performance as well as durability.
Obviously custom boards are easier to score than custom kites ... so hopefullyit's a board thing.
Forget the warranty, if the boards keep failing you can go straight to Australian consumer law.
Is the board:
- fit for purpose
- of merchantable quality
- do what the seller says it does.
The only question you need to ask yourself is are you pushing the board harder than can be reasonably expected? Well? Are you?
If you're a huge bugger and flat landing lots of big boosts maybe you're pushing the board too hard.
G'day all,
had a call from local dealer who had a chat to importer and they came up with a plan to fix the situation and its looking all good now. I understand that even though I fall outside of the warranty period they are willing to make a deal I can't refuse so both of us come out happy.
