Looking for some form of waterproofing for my Nikon D80 so I can get in the water this year instead of standing on the beach with my telephoto lens.
Any ideas where I can buy something like this?
www.pascoepix.com
dicapac, they have what you need if you dont really plan on going swimming as such but wading in deep water.
It is fully water proof but i wouldn't go out swimming and in surf with it.
200 bucks, could handle a lens up to about 18cm long
for a D80! you are one trusting guy or must have good home and contents insurance...what if it gets a bit wet????
one would think any image quality gained by the DLSR would be taken back by the plastic or perspex in front of the lens. Is it much more to buy a dedicated waterproof compact?
I have a ewa-marine U-Bz housing that i use with my 40d, I trust it a splash shield but i wouldn't take it down to 18m as ewa claims.
I found the australian importer to be very hard to deal with so I ended up getting mine from B&Hphoto in New York which including shipping and poor aussie dollar was still cheaper that what i could get one here for.
The EWA bags seem alot more expensive than some of the other models but I think the optical glass front, lens adaptors and good reputation make it worth the extra dollars.
message me if you want any details on specific sizing for certain cameras as there are many models.
I work for a European brand call Overboard and they make fantastic waterproof technology cases and dry bags. Including MP3, Phone, camera and also dry bags and backpacks for watersports. Overboard is a new brand in the Australia market and you can see the range at www.over-board.com.au
Regarding image quality the better brands like Overboard use a material called Lenziflex and while it is plastic it produces much clear images. Any quetions let me know
