I have a mate who is in Panama at the moment. He has very limited internet access and has asked me to find out where the best chances of getting in some serious wave kiting are in that region.

Has anyone kite surfed around there?

Check out Bocas Del Toro in Panama - thatll have better swell on the carribean side. That joint feels a little like indo this time of year. Sucky waves. It's an island so any wind direction should be able to be done. You could also do a boat trip around there to find some of shore action.

Then tour up to Costa. Most of the Guanacaste coast would be good. But the swell would be small this time of year.

Thanks for that BJW. I have managed to find a whole heap of stuff that is mainly advertising and was hoping to get some personal recommendations. The whole area looks stunning and I wish I was there! Certainly does not appear to be a lack of wind!

Just stick to the Carribean side this time of year... the Pacific is nearly flat most of the time in Jan.
