dusta,

The point is that you can get to these remotes spots, where it would take you 3 days in a kayak. I used to think the same, however having the access to these wonderful spots, to either enjoy the wilderness [once the ski is turned off] or find some remote spot to kitesurf or surf is what it is all about. You should try is sometime dusta !!

Cockle Creek?

I hate jet ski's too (when they are buzzing around disturbing the peace in the line up) but if there is no one else there then they are not going to kill anyones peace and quiet.
Still think I would rather pack a few supplies, take my time and do the kayak thing.

It is an amazing corner of the world that I would love to go back to and spend a bit more time exploring.

"they seek the wilderness and the isolation"

and ruin it with a ****ing jetski!

jetskis should be for towing in to big waves and surf rescue only imo.

I am guessing you "jetski dislikers", have only witnessed the hooning element of jetski riders.

However I use mine to access some very remote spots and travel a great deal of distance, all of which could not be possible in the time frame I have. The ability to trave up to 150kms and access some very remote spots is what makes it special. On that trip we saw two boats and a handful of people [in four hours and 120kms]

Tasmania is a special place, I enjoy it and appriciate, however for some of you I do own a jetski !!!

Please don't knock something until you fully understand it or have done it. Jetskis have a bad rap, and I fully understand the % of idiots that use them spoil it for the likes of us.

The problem is not so much the Jet Ski as it is the person who drives it.

We have all seen plenty of cases of Cabrina's damaging the native flora

Don't worry to much, when you go there you wont even know there had been a jet ski there before you, yet your impressions of the place will be just the same as all those before you

Jet ski should be getting a mega silencer making them absolutely quiet within 100 meters even if it means losing 50 HP.

One jet ski is bothering people within a couple of kilometers with that horrible repetitive engine tune as it bounces on the chop.

Most people go down the beach to enjoy the tranquility, the noise is the main issue not the hoons.

I realise that they are probably not much louder than a motorbike but the sound reflects off the water making it a 100 time more bothersome.

Until jet skis become quiet, shoot them on sight

To all you 'jetski dislikers'....

I live in Tassie, I use my jetski responsible, we ride to remote location, I see nobody most of the time, Tassie has some very remote spots only accesable by boats, in the greater Hobart area there is only 200,000 people.

I am guessing you guys may be a tad annoyed we have this awesome state to ourselves.

Please don't knock something until you have tried it
